Just Let It Happen 8

quick note because it would get boring to not only type, but also READ a day-by-day, I've decided to skip a couple days, so don't be surprised if there are references to things that haven't been mentioned happening, or if something doesn't make sense with what you're read so far. Like how Az has the school uniforms. Don't know how she got them, nor do we care. You'll soon find the 'don't know, don't care' thing happens often with Az.

"GET UP, SONYA. TODAY'S GONNA BE THE BEST FUCKING DAY OF YOUR LIFE."

Sonya jumped up in her bed with a slight squeak at the sudden exclamation. She turned to see Az standing by her bed with a grin plastered on her face and what appeared to be a school uniform in her arms. Said uniform was promptly thrown at Sonya's face as Az continued with her wake up call.

"Breakfast will be ready soon, so hurry up!" Az told her before walking out of the room, already dressed.

Sonya watched her friend as she left and looked down at the uniform in her lap before sighing heavily and falling back onto the bed.

"She did the same thing to me," Kris said tiredly as she walked into Sonya's room.

Sonya sighed before sitting up slowly and scratching the back of her head. "I just don't see how she can go to bed at 3am and wake up at 5! I can't even wake up at 7 after going to bed at 10!"

Kris nodded in understanding before sighing. "She's surprised me so much, nothing she does is surprising anymore."

The two friends shared a laugh before Kris left Sonya to get ready for the day.

"Sonya!" Az called as Sonya entered the room. Sonya glanced at the smiling girl and then the pancakes, but did a double take.

Since when is Az a morning person?

"How many pancakes would you like?" Tessai asked.

"Oh, uh, just 2 is fine," Sonya answered, still trying to wake up.

Tessai nodded and put three giant pancakes on her plate. As Sonya stared increduously at the pancakes that were bigger than her face, Az and Kris laughed.

They almost finished their breakfast and set off for school. Although they didn't have any idea as to what supplies they would need (Renji was no help), they were able to get certain obvious materials, like pens and paper, leaving their backpacks fairly light.

Az was walking along with a bounce in her step while Kris, Sonya, and Renji were dragging behind.

"How does she have so much energy?" Renji asked curiously.

"She's the eighth wonder of the world," Sonya replied half sarcastically. Renji didn't really catch on, but didn't say anything more.

"Az!" Kris called. "Slow down!"

Az stopped and turned, drowpping her shoulders and scowling at her friends. "You guys walk too slow!"

Kris snapped back, "You're walking abnormally fast- especially from someone who just healed from their ankle injury!"

Az stuck her tongue out. "Well all you did was break your arm! And while you are still healing, why can't you keep up?" Az retorted, gesturing to Kris' wrapped arm.

Kris and Az's bickering could be heard from a couple of blocks away. For Ichigo and Rukia, the bickering became louder with each step he took in the direction of Karakura High School... and Kris and Az.

"Well it's not my fault you're as slow as-" Az stopped to find a certain Ichigo walking right ahead of her, slightly slouched, next to a certain Rukia. "STRAWBERRY!" She laughed and waved while said boy turned slowly to see the group walking behind him.

He and Rukia stopped walking so the newcomers were able to catch up, and they all started off to the school. The argument between Az and Kris forgotten, and a new one sparked up between Rukia, Sonya, and Kris. The other three listened in but didn't find much room to join.

Once they arrived at the school, the girls departed to get their schedules, Rukia going along to make sure they didn't get lost, while Ichigo and Renji went to their classroom.

"Let's see... Room 108?" Az pulled the paper away from her face a they walked down the semi-crowded hallway. The now dubbed 'new girls' were recieving looks of all kinds as they followed behind Rukia.

"I have 110," Sonya said, slightly curious.

"So do I," Kris added.

The girls were led to the classroom Rukia, Kris, and Sonya would have as their homeroom while Az stood outside with a pout. The girls looked at their papers once again before Az huffed in frustration.

"This is just great! My first day and I'm seperated from my best friends. What the fuck?!" Az exclaimed, following her friends into the classroom.

"It doesn't sound like you're seperated," Ichigo mumbled. Az's eyebrow twitched at the comment, and she sighed and laid her head on Sonya's shoulder.

"Hey, you're Rukia-chan's American friends, right?" Sonya and Kris looked over to see Keigo smiling at them, while Ichigo and company watched from behind him.

"Uh, yeah, what's your name again?" Kris asked.

"My name's Keigo Asano, but you can just call me Keigo. Or Keigo-kun if you wish~" He moved closer to the girls with each sentence as if drawn in, causing Az to push him back with her foot while looking extremely bored.

"I'm Sonya, and this leech here is Az. That's Kris."

"It's very nice to meet you all!" Keigo claimed, a bit too enthusiastically.

"Actually," Az mumbled. "Maybe me not being in this class is a good thing."

Before anymore conversation could go on, a bell sounded. Az wrapped her arms around Sonya and fake cried while Sonya dragged her to the door.

"Az, don't be late on your first day. We'll see you at lunch." At that, Sonya closed the door, leaving Az to fend for herself.

"We have two new students today, class," their teacher, Misato Ochi, began. "They will now introduce themselves!"

"I'm Sonya."

"And I'm Kris."

She looked at a paper that was sitting on her desk before prompting them to take their seats. "I suppose you two being exchange students has to do with your European names, correct?" Kris and Sonya nodded, trying to avoid the curious eyes all around them. "Great! Now, let's begin!"

"Class, we have a new student joining us today. She's from America, so don't hassle her too much if her speaking is strange!"

Az mentally face-palmed, but outwardly rolled her eyes. She didn't want as much attention as this introduction was giving her, so she attempted to make it short and sweet.

"My name is Az. Hopefully there's nothing for you to hassle me about." She moved to take the only empty seat near the back of the class, but the teacher stopped her.

"Why don't you write your name on the board and tell us something about yourself?"

Az felt heat rush to her cheeks before the turned to the blackboard. She liked attention, but not in an awkward silence where a ton of strangers were watching her every move. She wrote an 'A' and a 'z' before turning back to the class.

"I'm from America. I'm here because a friend of mine has a penpal that goes to this school, and when said penpal invited my friend here for a few weeks, she had me tag along. We have another friend, but sadly when we were entered into the system, I was seperated. We are from Texas, and no, we do not ride horses, wear cowgirl outfits, nor do we have an accent."

She looked at the teacher before he nodded approval, and she walked to the back of the classroom avoiding as many stares as she could before sinking into her seat.

This is the worst fucking day ever.

As soon as lunch time arrived, Az was standing outside of room 110, waiting for her friends to exit. A few kids she didn't recognize walked out, followed by Ishida, Orihime (who kindly waved before chatting and walking off with Tatsuki), Chad, Keigo and Mizuiro.

Az had begun to tap her foot impatiently with her arms crossed and unconsciously glared at everyone that walked out. Her gaze had settled on the familiar blond head of her friend Kris and Az pounced- literally.

"KRIS, SONYA! I DIED, FERREAL I DID!" Az cried while hugging her friend tightly.

"AZ!" Kris yelled, pushing her away. "Calm down, girl!" She was laughing nervously while Az smiled.

"How was your first couple of hours?" Az asked casually, as if nothing had happened before. The three were walking towards the stairs that led to the roof, ignoring the strange looks they recieved from strangers and aquaintences.

"They sure make an impression," Renji said while waiting for Rukia to join him and Ichigo.

"Hopefully Az doesn't do something insanely crazy before the week's over." Ichigo added.
The other two nodded in agreement before walking off.

The girls sat on the roof with their lunches happily chatting away. They were soon joined by Ichigo, Rukia, and Renji, who were then joined by the others. Az sat on the part of the edge that wasn't blocked off by a fence and looked down while taking a bite of her sandwich.

"This would be cooler if there wasn't a fence," she claimed while staring at the road outside of the school. "Be fun to fight someone here; the winner being the one still on the roof."

She received strange and terrified looks from all those around her, save Kris and Sonya, who were used to statements like that.

Az took another bite of her sandwich and defended herself with her mouth full. "Why so serious?" She swallowed and smiled. "I was just saying. It'd make a fight much more interesting is all."

"Az, stop being a freak," Sonya said.

"You're gonna give them nightmares," Kris added.

Az hopped down and sat next to her espada friend. "Yeah right, Kristina. Did I give you nightmares?"

"Yes, yes you did, Azathara," Kris retorted, pushing her friend away.

"Azathara?" Ichigo questioned. Before he could say anything though, Az cast him a warning glare.

Sonya laughed at her friends' argument as she finished up her food. "I am so glad I go by my full name."

Az and Kris glared at her, but she just continued to laugh. Az had finished her lunch quickly (because she's like a vacuum cleaner) much to Yumichika's disgust, and those that had already heard the story of the trio were engaged in their own conversation.

"So, tell me what happened from your point of view," Orihime began, scooting next to Sonya. "I heard what happened from Ichigo, but I want to know what you guys went through."

Kris was currently trying to get Az to stop attempting to climb the fence, which Sonya found to be entertaining. However, she was drawn away from her friends' new argument by Orihime.

"Well, we were at Kris' house just to hang out when I suddenly got this huge headache. I had been having them for the longest time, but this one was worse than usual. I blacked out and when I woke up, me, Kris, and Az were all in Urahara's shop." Sonya glanced over at Kris and Az before continuing. "From what I heard, Kris ended up outside of Ichigo's house, Az landed in a park somewhere, and I was just a few blocks away from Urahara's."

Orihime nodded. "So I guess I didn't miss too much of the story when Ichigo told me, huh?"

Sonya smiled softly. "I guess not."

They both looked over to Az and Kris, seeing that Az had succeded in climbing over Kris' head. Kris reached up and grabbed Az's leg, causing Az to fall on top of her and earning looks from many people that were on the roof.

Orihime worridly watched the two get into another argument while Sonya just laughed and turned back to the rest of her food.

"Don't worry, they do stuff like that all the time," she assured Orihime. Orihime took one last glance at the bickering friends before joining a conversation amongst the group.

After lunch, Az walked with her friends back to their classroom. Sonya made sure to stay between her and Kris to avoid any more arguing. Once they arrived at 110, Az said goodbye (thankfully less dramatic than she had been all day) and walked back to her class.

In room 110, class was going on as usual. The teacher was droning on about the first world war while not many students paid much attention, and Kris and Sonya were avoiding hushed conversations from curious students.

"So, have you guys ever been to Hollywood?"

"Do you know anyone famous?"

"What's it like in America?"

The two girls exchanged annoyed glances as Ichigo turned to the questioning students.

"Lay off will ya? They didn't come here to be hounded by you morons," he whispered harshly.
The students sank back in their chairs while Sonya and Kris mouthed a 'thank you.' Ichigo turned back to his seat just before they were alerted by a hollow.

In a matter of seconds, Ichigo, Renji, and Rukia had managed to get out of class. Everyone else went on as they normally did, but the two girls were slightly confused.

Kris turned to Orihime. "Does that usually happen?"

She nodded, smiling. "They'll be back soon, depending on how strong the hollow is."

Kris nodded slightly and sat back in her chair. She glanced out the window but soon turned her attention back to the class. Just as Orihime had predicted, the three returned shortly, and the class went on normally.

"So, how was everyone's day?" Urahara greeted.

Az, Sonya, Kris, and Renji had just entered the shop with their backpacks slightly heavier than when they left. The girls looked at each other and shrugged.

"It was alright," Sonya began. Kris and Az nodded. Kris and Sonya had a couple of laughs throughout the day while Az just wanted to go to bed.

"Az is in a different classroom," Renji began to end the silence that had followed Sona's statement.

"It's terrible!" Az cried. "Everyone acts like I'm some kind of freak!"

"That's cuz you are," Kris mumbled. Az playfully slapped her arm while Sonya laughed.

"Well, it sounds like you all had a nice day!" Urahara said, pulling out his fan. "Now, you three should go get changed, we'll be squeezing in some training before dinner!"

"What?!" The three chimed. Urahara waved them off saying 'you heard me' before leaving the room. They groaned in unison before dragging themselves to their rooms.
